With the preamble out of the way, I'd like to give a cheer to the Sox and their fans. While I live outside of the sport to a degree, I live in New England, which means that Sox knowledge and emotion exist around me on a daily basis. The fact that I was able to hear them win on the radio was great (I was at work), and it's something that marks everyone in the northeast, including myself.
Congratulations to the Red Sox for winning the World Series.
My grandfather Cass didn't live to see it, but my grandfather Ashley can have the satisfaction of having seen it happen, not to mention my father.
It's hard to think of what to say, really. It's so momentus that words almost fail. And, honestly, all the sports writers and radio personalities will probably say enough and more for me. I guess I'll just say that I'm happy for all the fans out there that have suffered for a lifetime, who need not suffer any more.
