Tomorrow we get a new employee at work. He actually was an old employee, and they were supposed to hire him some number of months ago, but a hiring freeze had stopped that. I'm looking forward to hanging out with him again, even if it is only a small amount of time at shift change. He was always a pretty cool guy. Additionally, I have to admit that I'm glad we hired him because we now will have six employees to cover five shifts, which makes holiday coverage a lot easier to figure out, in general. Granted, it would be even more excellent if they hired another person to cover second shift, or even a third person for first shift, but the likelyhood of that happening any time soon is pretty much zero.
Yesterday I picked up the next disc of Ghost in the Shell, as well as the next for Fullmetal Alchemist. I just finished watching GitS, which was generally reasonable quality, though the animation quality and plot quality vary pretty widely from episode to episode. It's clear that the "complex episodes" are the ones they spent the most money on, and the "stand alone episodes" seem to suffer a bit because of it. Overall, though, the plot and writing tend to be both ambitious and satisfying, so there isn't too much to complain about.
