Music and dreams

I haven't been writing the last few days. I guess I'll review what's been up. Lately I've been staying up a bit late at night, and so when it comes time to wake up I stay in bed for extra time. Then once it's pretty much past time when I can get to work on time, I still can only sit up and fight off dozing back off. Eventually I get up and head to work. This started Friday when I was half an hour late to work, and while I've been better this week I still tend to have to take rushed showers to get out the door at a vaguely reasonable hour. At work I've been pacified by the sleep chemicals still floating in my head and so I haven't especially felt like doing much of anything.

What I have found, however, is that I do like fiddling around with the guitar. Even though I haven't learned too much about it yet, it's still fun to just pick up and play. Looking at guitar tabs for songs is also interesting. My strumming and fingering speed is still quite abysmal, but I can usually play random notes close enough to the song I'm trying to play that you would probably be able to strain to recognize it. It's fun, and while I suppose I could reflect upon where I might be had I gotten an instrument far earlier in my life, the fact of the matter is that it never was really that important since I've always had something to occupy my time, and I view this as a new learning experience that I will eventually incorporate and hopefully master.

This morning my alarm went off at the usual time and I turned it off and went back to sleep. I had a dream where I was sort of like a Charlie character of Chocolate Factory fame, where I had sort of a lottery ticket. I was at an Anime convention I guess, and the person with the winning ticket could win one million dollars. I was sitting in a hall (an open room, not a thing that connects rooms) with some friends waiting for the drawing to start and I remember there being some question from someone about something. Someone answered something about checking against "(something that I forget) and 10am (referenced as an entity)" where 10am is when my alarm clock usually goes off. At that point I woke up and saw that it was 11:30.
